Fur-get The Shopping: It's Cat Friday At ASPCA; North Shore Animal League America Waives Adoption Fees

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- It's Cat Friday in New York City.

Not to be outdone by retail's annual Black Friday, the ASPCA is offering deep discounts on fees for qualified adopters.

Cats over a year old will have their adoption fees waived. Kitten fees are more than half off.

"Every single adopter of cats will receive a free gift to celebrate the life that they have saved," Gayle Buckwald, senior vice president at the ASPCA, told 1010 WINS.

You can also get love for less at Long Island's North Shore Animal League America. It's waiving adoption fees until noon Friday for dogs and cats of all ages.
