Man Falls, Dies After Being Shot By Police In Foxwoods Casino Garage

MASHANTUCKET, Conn. (CBSNewYork) -- Tribal police at the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut shot an armed man in the parking garage Tuesday, and the man died soon afterward.

New York State Police said the man had an outstanding arrest warrant.

Officers confronted the man on the fourth floor of the parking garage. They said the man pulled a weapon and shots were fired.

The man fell from the garage to the pavement and died, but it was not clear whether the gunshots or the fall killed him, authorities told CBS2. His name was not being released late Tuesday pending family notification.

The officers were not injured.

The lobby of the Fox Tower Hotel was cleared after the incident to ensure public safety, but the area resumed business shortly afterward, Connecticut State Police said.

The resort is owned by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation.
