Former NYC High School Dean Pleads Guilty In Child Sex Case

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- The former dean of a New York City high school has admitted to accusations he had sex with a 16-year-old student at the school.

Malik Taylor pleaded guilty Tuesday to rape and child endangerment for his encounters with the underage girl.

He is expected to receive a 90-day jail sentence and 10 years of probation.

As 1010 WINS' Al Jones previously reported, Taylor, 31, was a dean at the Business of Sports School, at 439 W. 49th St. in the Hell's Kitchen section of Manhattan.

He resigned in May, 2013 after investigators alleged he had sex with four students and sexually harassed four others.

"He made remarks to students about the size of their buttocks or the size of their breasts, or told them what he would like to do to them," said Richard Condon, special commissioner for investigation for city schools.

Condon had launched an investigation into the allegations and released a report on his findings in July, 2013.

Only one of the students Taylor allegedly had sex with was under 17. That's the legal age of consent in New York. The criminal charges concerned only her.

A Department of Education spokeswoman had previously said Taylor's actions were "completely reprehensible" and that he will never work in city schools again.
