Former Long Island School Security Guard Faces Sex Abuse Charges

SHIRLEY, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A former Long Island school security guard has been arrested on charges of sexually abusing a minor, police said.

Sean Corragio was taken into custody at his Shirley home early Tuesday.

The 22-year-old was arrested on charges including criminal sex acts with a minor, promoting a sexual performance by a child and possession of a sexual performance by a child.

Police did not release details.

His arraignment is expected later Tuesday. His attorney's name is not immediately available.

Corragio previously worked as a security guard in the Longwood and William Floyd school districts, police said.

A Longwood statement says Corragio began a supervised training program in September but quit after two days. A William Floyd spokesman has not immediately commented.

Corragio also worked as a contractor for Stony Brook University, police said.

Detectives are asking anyone with additional information about Coraggio to contact the Fourth Squad at 631-854-8452.
