Man Found Dead With Head Trauma In Queens' Forest Park

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A man was found dead in Forest Park in Queens Wednesday, and police said he had suffered blunt trauma.

Police were called to the park near Park Lane South and Woodhaven Boulevard in Queens at 3:26 p.m., and found the 23-year-old man's body, the NYPD said.

Source said two people had been walking into the park, and had found the body after following a blood trail, sources told CBS2.

The man had suffered severe blunt force trauma to the head, and he had fresh blood pooled near his body, sources said.

The unidentified man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The New York City Medical Examiner's office must determine the cause of his death.

The investigation continued late Wednesday.
