Fire Breaks Out In Queens House Under Construction, NYPD Notes Rash Of Fires In Area

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A fire broke out in a house under construction in Forest Hills, Queens Tuesday evening, and police said there has been a rash of fires in the neighborhood lately.

The latest fire broke out around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the unfinished house at 108-43 66th Ave. in Queens, the FDNY said.

Not far away at 68-60 112th St. in Queens, a fire broke out around 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8 in a two-story building, the FDNY said. That fire spread to three alarms and caused damage to two other homes nearby.

The NYPD 112th Precinct reported on Twitter that it is aware of a "rash of fires" in the area and is working with the FDNY and other investigative agencies.
