Flooded Streets Mar Route To Stadium For U.S.-Germany

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- U.S. players have their work cut out for them in Thursday's World Cup match against Germany.

So do fans and the media, who have to make their way to Arena Pernambuco amid downpours and flooded roads en route to the stadium.

Several reporters have been tweeting photos of the conditions in Recife, Brazil. And it doesn't look good.

Ticket-holders also took to Twitter as they prepared to brave the elements:

The U.S. will move on to the knockout round with a win or draw Thursday afternoon. The squad will have to rely on some fortunate math against the winner of Portugal-Ghana if Germany comes out on top.
