Flight Headed For Hartford Diverted To JFK Due To Warning Light

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A JetBlue flight from West Palm Beach, Florida, to Hartford, Connecticut was diverted to John F. Kennedy International Airport Sunday after a mechanical warning light went on.

The plane landed safely, and no one was injured.

Flight 1142 took off Sunday with 84 people aboard when the indicator appeared around 1:15 p.m. An airline spokesman didn't have immediate information on exactly what the warning light signaled.

JetBlue Airways Corp. said the pilot decided to land at JFK ``in an abundance of caution.''

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey said the plane taxied to a gate without any problems. It was parked by 1:27 p.m.

Maintenance workers were checking out the plane Sunday afternoon. Passengers were to be taken to Hartford on another aircraft.
