11-Year-Old Boy Shot By Stray Bullet In Brooklyn

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- An 11-year-old boy was apparently shot by a stray bullet Tuesday in Brooklyn.

It happened just before 10 p.m. on East 29th Street in Flatbush.

A family member said the child was in the front yard playing when he was hit in the leg by what they initially thought was a firecracker.

The boy was taken to Kings County Hospital in stable condition.

It's unclear what led to the shooting, but police do not believe the child was the intended target.

So far, no arrests have been made.

Police said there were nine shootings across the city Tuesday.
