9 Injured, 3 Critically In Flatbush, Brooklyn Fire

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Nine people were injured, three of them critically, when a fire broke out in a seven-story building in Flatbush, Brooklyn.

The fire broke out just before 9:30 p.m. in the building at 554 East 26th St., the FDNY said.

The fire was on the third floor of the building, the FDNY said.

Fire officials told the Associated Press three people were taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County in critical condition. Six other people were treated for minor injuries, officials said.

The blaze was brought under control in less than an hour.
