NEW YORK -- The First Alert Weather team is tracking another round of heavy rain headed our way.

A Red Alert has been issued for Thursday afternoon into the night.

The rain is expected to ease its way in this afternoon, before the heaviest bouts in the afternoon/evening. 

While there's no widespread flood threat, localized flooding is possible, especially inland north and west of New York City, where up to 2 inches of rain could fall.

The showers will exit to our east overnight, with some clearing by dawn.
