Father, 75, Son, 44, Killed In Early Morning House Fire In New Jersey

NORTH ARLINGTON, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- A father and son were killed Friday in an early morning house fire in New Jersey.

Firefighters responded around 4:15 a.m. to a burning home on Ninth Street in North Arlington.

Police said a 75-year-old man and his 44-year-old son died in the blaze.

A 66-year-old woman was rescued and taken to a hospital.

"It's never easy when you're trying to make a rescue from the same location, which was the case here. They were all on the second flood. The mother was at the window. They were able to use a ladder and bring her to safety," North Arlington Police Chief Scott Hedenberg said.

The victims' names have not been released.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
