Firefighter Busted In Online Sting Allegedly Had Child Porn On His Computer
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A New York City firefighter has been arrested and charged with a pair of crimes related to child pornography.
Scott Trivolis, 51, has been charged with promoting the sexual performance of a child, and possessing sexual performances by a child, police said.
Trivolis turned himself into police on Wednesday morning.
He had allegedly been engaging in explicit chats with an undercover vice cop posing as a child, police said.
Sources told 1010 WINS that authorities seized his computers and a number of flash drives. There were a number of files featuring children under the age of 10, the source said.
Trivolis has been a firefighter for 20 years. He was assigned to Battalion 6 in Manhattan.
Trivolis was given the maximum suspension of 30 days without pay.
