Fire Leaves Boy, 10, Dead In Pink Houses In East New York

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Authorities late Friday were investigating a fire that left a 10-year-old boy dead in an East New York, Brooklyn public housing development.

The boy was one of four people found in a third-floor apartment in the building on Loring Avenue Thursday night, in the Pink Houses development, officials said.

Firefighters found the child unconscious in a back bedroom, officials said.

The other three in the home were able to escape the flames, officials said.

The cause of the fire was under investigation late Friday.
