Fire Leads To Building Collapse At Nanuet Sports Complex

NANUET, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- An indoor sports complex in Nanuet collapsed Thursday night following a gas-fed fire.

The fire was reported around 9:25 p.m. at the West Rock Indoor Sports & Entertainment Complex, at 21 Pralle Lane in Nanuet, according to Clarkstown police.

The fire was gas-fed and was under control by 10:40 p.m., police said.

The flames became so intense that most of the building's roof and walls caved in, littering the area with debris, authorities said.

No one was inside the building at the time.

The facility offers tennis, basketball, baseball, lacrosse and soccer facilities, as well as a "Bounce City" with inflated bouncing surfaces, and laser tag.

The fire was under investigation late Thursday.
