Wind-Fueled Fire Destroys Multiple Homes Overnight On Fire Island

FIRE ISLAND, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) – Strong winds fueled a massive fire that destroyed multiple homes early this morning on Fire Island.

The flames broke out around 1:30 a.m. at a home on Bayview Walk in Ocean Bay Park.

The fire then spread two at least two other houses.

So far, no injuries have been reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, but officials say it may have been electrical.
