Filmmaker Creating Documentary About Mets' 1986 Title Run
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Heather Quinlan, a New York native and lifelong Mets fan, is working on a documentary film profiling the team's 1986 championship season.
Quinlan is planning to release the documentary "'86 Mets: The Movie" to mark the 30th anniversary of the Amazin's last title.
"Aside from being a Met fan and a filmmaker, it's a larger-than-life story, larger-than-life characters, epic battles, especially in the postseason," Quinlan told CBS 2's Andrea Grymes. "Homer could've written this himself back in like the ancient Greek time."
Quinlan has already interviewed Dwight Gooden, Darryl Strawberry, Lenny Dykstra, Kevin Mitchell, Mookie Wilson and Bill Buckner.
