"I would say it's a fun, fun show with dance beats, and you get a little history lesson kind of thrown in there," Ruthie Ann Miles, who plays the role of Imelda Marcos, told CBS 2's Dana Tyler.

Jose Llana, who was born in the Philippines, said playing Ferdinand Marcos was a challenge for him because of his personal ties to the country.

"My parents moved away from the Philippines because they were major activists against the Marcos regime," he said. "And for me to sort of play this character now -- it's always tricky to play historical figures because there are so many things that are already written about them that are fact, but the tricky thing about the Marcos family is they invented a lot of facts about them and put them in print.
