Police: Pedestrian Killed In Hit-And-Run On FDR Drive

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are searching for a driver who they said struck and killed a pedestrian on the FDR Drive early Friday morning.

It happened around 1 a.m. near 28th Street.

A 29-year-old man was either standing in the roadway or was trying to cross the northbound side of the FDR Drive when he was hit by a dark gray vehicle, police said.

The vehicle did not stop and kept driving north, police said.

The man was found lying in the road with head trauma. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The investigation is ongoing.
