Family Of 6 Displaced After Fire Rips Through Harlem Building

NEW YORK(CBSNewYork) -- A raging fire at a building in Harlem left a family of six homeless, on Friday night.

The fire began at 7 p.m. in a restaurant on Frederick Douglass Avenue and West 155th Street.

Firefighters were able to gain control of the flames shortly after midnight, CBS 2 reported.

A family of two adults and four children were displaced by the blaze.

The fire also left six firefighters and a city environmental protection worker with minor injuries. There has been no word on what sparked the flames.
