Family, Friends Come To Defense Of Man In Trailer Booted From Vacant Brooklyn Lot

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Family and friends are coming to the defense of a man who was forced to relocate after living in a trailer on a vacant Brooklyn lot.

The man, known as "JR," had been living inside the 16-foot Sprinter trailer for months in the vacant lot at 467 Bushwick Ave.

On Friday, the owner gave him the boot.

"JR" claims to have been paying rent on the lot, but the owner said there was no such deal, 1010 WINS' Glenn Schuck reported.

Those who know "JR" are asking the owner to cut him a break.

"You could work things out with the guy," a man named Hector, who claims to be JR's cousin, said. "Give him a break, man."

When Schuck told Hector the owner of the property claims that a development will be going up at the location, he responded, "That's a lie, it's been like this for almost 30-something years."

The trailer is now parked with two flat tires on Monteith Street.
