Queens Man Accused Of Sending Fake Rodent Violation Letters To Residents
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A Queens man faces conspiracy and mail fraud charges after he allegedly sent fake city letters fining residents for rodent violations.
Police said 31-year-old David Han sent 10,000 fraudulent notices, trying to bilk people out of more than $1 million.
The letters insisted residents pay $120 to $280 fines to the vermin control of New York.
Police said about 100 victims mailed checks.
