Teen Faces Charges After Threatening School Secretary With Fake Gun, Police Say

MONSEY, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- A 19-year-old was arrested Friday afternoon after he threatened an elementary school secretary with a fake gun, Ramapo police said.

Police said Yechiel Lefkowitz, of Spring Valley, walked into the main office of Elmwood Elementary School in Monsey around 1 p.m.

Lefkowitz told the secretary he wanted to show her something, pulled a fake handgun from his jacket, then dropped it on the floor, police said.

He was detained by school employees before being arrested by police.

Lefkowitz was charged with burglary, for entering the building without permission with intent to commit a crime, menacing and criminal possession of a weapon.
