Etsy To Create Original Products For American Museum Of Natural History
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- The popular online craft seller Etsy is creating a line of original products for the American Museum of Natural History.
The items, inspired by the museum's collection, will be sold at the museum's gift shop and online.

The museum announced the collaboration on Thursday.
The Etsy shop in the museum store will feature a selection of more than 140 objects, including a $250 sterling silver blue whale pendant based on the museum's iconic Hall of Ocean Life display.
It's the first time that the Brooklyn-based craft seller has collaborated with a museum in the creation of original products, the museum said.
Founded in 2005, Etsy – headquartered at 55 Washington St. — sells everything from a $110,000 antique desk from the 1800s to a $20 handmade antler pendant, and everything in between. In 10 years, it's grown from a scrappy startup offering craftspeople a way to sell necklaces and needlepoint online to a marketplace of 54 million members that generated $1.93 billion in sales in 2014.
On Wednesday, Etsy filed for an initial public offering of stock valued at up to $100 million.
