ESPN Reporter Britt McHenry Suspended After Parking Garage Tirade

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- ESPN reporter Britt McHenry has been suspended for a week, days after she was caught on a viral video berating a parking lot attendant.

McHenry got her car towed last week while having dinner in Arlington, Virginia, according to ARLNow.com.

On Thursday, a video posted to LiveLeak.com showed McHenry dressing down the employee.

WARNING: PROFANE LANGUAGE:

"I'm in the news, sweetheart. I will f***ing sue this place," McHenry says in the video.

She later remarks, "Yep, that's all you are about is just taking people's money, with no education, no skill set – just want to clarify that," and adds, "Maybe if I was missing some teeth (the garage) would hire me, huh?"

"I'm on television and you're in a f***ing trailer, honey," McHenry continues. "Lose some weight, baby girl."

ESPN spokesman Josh Krulewitz said Thursday afternoon that McHenry will be suspended for one week, effective immediately.

In a tweet Thursday afternoon before the suspension was announced, McHenry apologized for her comments.

"In an intense and stressful moment, I allowed my emotions to get the best of me and said some insulting and regrettable things," she tweeted. "As frustrated as I was, I should always choose to be respectful and take the high road. I am so sorry for my actions and will learn from this mistake."
