It wasn't exactly State of the Mets, but G.M. Sandy Alderson - after a 1-6 road trip and watching his team lose 7 of 8 games - met the media prior to Friday night's start of a 10-game homestand, and answered several pressing questions:
What have you been surprised by thus far?
You recently stated that your run differential should equate to being close to a .500 team. So why aren't you closer to being that?
There needs to be more length to the lineup
Will you be reluctant to be sellers at the trading deadline?
If you're trading, are you looking for major league or major league-ready players instead of trading veterans for prospects like last year?
You have a lot of very good pitching. Are you hesitant or willing to trade for the needs that you have?
Are you excited about any position players at Triple AAA that could help sometime soon?
What is the organization's stance on Noah Syndegaard at the moment?
C U soon
