Serious Accident Snarls Traffic Along Route 3 In East Rutherford

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (CBSNewYork) - A serious accident has caused injuries along Route 3 near the Meadowlands, CBS2 reported.

The number and extent of the injuries was not immediately clear.

All lanes eastbound were closed on Route 3 at Route 21 for at least an hour Tuesday morning. Two lanes were also blocked on the westbound side.

Traffic was detoured to Route 120.

Traffic on Route 3 was reopened at around 8:45 a.m.

NJ TRANSIT and Express buses were experiencing delays as a result of the accident, CBS2's Alex Denis reported.
