Divers Rescue Man Submerged In East River

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A man was pulled from the cold water of the East River on Friday evening.

The FDNY and NYPD sent divers into the river near 34th Street after getting multiple reports of a man submerged in the water.

The divers were able to find the man, pull him to land and get him an ambulance to Bellevue Hospital.

There was no word on the man's condition or how he wound up in the river.
