Car Slams Into Truck In East New York, Brooklyn; Driver Impaled By Beam

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A car slammed into a parked truck in East New York, Brooklyn late Thursday, leaving a driver impaled with a beam.

The accident happened around 4 p.m. at Louisiana and Dewitt avenues, the FDNY said.

Officials said the driver of the car drove into the back of the parked truck and was impaled with a beam that was on the truck.

The driver, of an unknown age and gender, was taken to Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center with head trauma, officials said.

The victim was reported in serious condition.
