Police: $30,000 Worth Of Sunglasses Stolen From Car In East Meadow

EAST MEADOW, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Police were searching Friday for whoever made off with several hundred pairs of pricey sunglasses from a Long Island woman's car.

The theft happened sometime between 8:30 p.m. Thursday and about 6 a.m. Friday in East Meadow, Nassau County police said.

The 55-year-old woman parked her car Thursday on Coolidge Drive in East Meadow with about $30,000 worth of name-brand sunglasses and optical glasses inside, police said.

She returned Friday morning to find them all gone, police said.

Investigators note that two men were seen bicycling with a black garbage bag on Coolidge Drive around 4:15 a.m. Friday.
