East Hampton Police: 2 Cops Caught Having Tryst While Trespassing

EAST HAMPTON, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- One East Hampton Village cop is out of a job and another has been suspended after police say they were caught in a "compromising position" while trespassing in a vacation home.

As WCBS 880 Long Island Bureau Chief Mike Xirinachs reported, a Manhattan interior designer reportedly surprised the couple when he unexpectedly showed up at the house for a a recent holiday visit.

One of the two officers, a female traffic control agent, is also a part-time house cleaner who had access to the home. She has since been fired.

Her companion, a male patrolman, is suspended pending the outcome of the investigation.

East Hampton's police chief has not commented. The two officers have not been identified.
