Officers Fire At Suspect In East Flatbush, Brooklyn

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police fired at a Tuesday evening with a suspect in East Flatbush, Brooklyn.

Officers from the Brooklyn South Narcotics team responded at 6 p.m. to gunfire at Railroad Park, at East 92nd Street and Avenue B in Brooklyn, police told CBS2.

They found two men at the scene, and one man pointed his gun at officers, police said.

Sources initially said a suspect fired at least one shot, but police later said it was unclear whether any shots were fired at police.

Officers fired at least one shot, but it did not appear that they hit anyone, sources said.

One person was in custody in the incident late Tuesday. It was not clear whether he was a witness or a participant in the incident, sources said.

The person who pointed the gun fled into a nearby building and was still on the loose late Tuesday.

Police were still searching for a gun late Tuesday, sources said.

Two officers were taken to an area hospital for tinnitus, sources said.

The investigation continued late Tuesday.
