Actor Dylan Baker Tries To Rescue Woman In Hell's Kitchen High-Rise Fire

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Veteran actor Dylan Baker experienced some real-life drama Tuesday, as he tried to rescue a neighbor when a fire broke out in a Hell's Kitchen residential building.

Dylan Baker, who has a recurring role in the CBS drama "The Good Wife," sprang into action Tuesday afternoon when the fire broke out in the Manhattan Plaza apartments, on 43rd Street between Ninth and Tenth avenues.

Baker has a 33rd-floor unit in the high-rise complex, and after getting his family out, he worried about a neighbor who uses a walker.

Baker said he knocked on the woman's door.

"I opened the door. I was surprised to find it open and there was flames everywhere; smoke coming out at me, so I had to slam the door. I had to slam the door," Baker said. "I yelled again. I didn't hear anything."

When firefighters arrived, they found a woman inside the apartment. She was listed in serious condition late Tuesday.
