Police: New Jersey Driver Nearly Hits Pedestrian, Then Shoots Him Following Argument

TRENTON, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP)-- A driver in New Jersey nearly hit a pedestrian and then shot the man in the knee after they started arguing, officials said.

Trenton police say a 20-year-old city resident was walking in the area of Dayton Street and South Clinton Avenue when a vehicle turning onto South Clinton nearly struck him early Sunday.

The two men started arguing and the driver exited his vehicle. He then fired one shot at the victim and drove away.

The wounded pedestrian was treated at a hospital. His name has not been disclosed.
