Officials: Driver Dead In Head-On Crash With Public Bus In Queens

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The driver of a vehicle going the wrong way down a major road in Queens was killed after colliding head-on with a public bus.

The vehicle was traveling westbound in the eastbound lane on Union Turnpike around 174th street when it collided with a Q46 bus, according to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority. The crash occurred at around 8:30 p.m.

The driver was pronounced dead on the scene, according to officials.

The bus driver and a female passenger were taken to Queens General Hospital with minor injuries, 1010 WINS reports.

No arrests have been made, officials said.
