DOT Worker Dies After Being Struck By Dump Truck On Upper East Side
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – A New York City Department of Transportation worker has died after being run over by a dump truck while on the job.
Police said 44-year-old Eduardo Calleabril, of Queens, was part of a paving crew on the Upper East Side.

We're undertaking a full investigation into how this happened.
He was hit by the MACK truck as it backed up around 1 a.m. on East 88th Street between York and East End avenues.
Police said the 35-year-old driver stayed on the scene.

Calleabril was rushed to New York Presbyterian-Weill Cornell Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators said his death appeared to be a tragic accident. No charges were expected.
