Dominique Ansel's New West Village Bakery Will Not Sell Cronuts

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The man who brought us the Cronut is opening a new outpost, which won't be selling the popular sweet treat.

Dominique Ansel's new store is expected to open in the West Village this spring.

The French chef said the new bakery will serve favorites like the warm madeleines that customers love at his SoHo store, but the new bakery is not equipped to make Cronuts, CBS2 reported.

Customers will still have to visit the SoHo location for the popular crossaint-doughnut pastry.

The Cronut was called one of the best inventions of 2013 by TIME magazine.
