Dog Used As Bait, Tied To Pole And Left For Dead In Paterson, N.J.

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police in Paterson, New Jersey are looking for whoever used a dog as bait, tied it to a pole and left it for dead.

This dog was found on March 19 at around 8 p.m. near 450 east 24th St.

She was likely used as bait in a dogfighting ring, then tied to a pole and left to die, according Paterson Animal Control Officer John DeCando.

DeCando is looking for any information about who did this to the young dog. He can be reached at 973-881-3640.

If anyone is interested making a donation for the dog named Isabelle's care, please contact Second Chance Pet Adoption League at 973-610-7941.

The worst of her injuries are on three of her legs, and huge gashes on her chest, according to Second Chance.

Isabelle is making a remarkable recovery and may be available for adoption at some point.
