Dog Rescued From Tracks After Chasing Metro-North Train Finds New Home

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The energetic dog that made headlines last week after chasing a Metro-North train from the South Bronx into Manhattan has found a loving home.

Tie, a shepherd/collie mix, was adopted over the weekend by the Miller family.

Tie was rescued by two MTA officers last Tuesday after running alongside a Metro-North train on a parallel track for about a mile and a half. The dog started its journey at a rail yard on 149th Street in the Bronx and chased the train to the 125th Street station in Harlem.

Officers Luis Alvarez and Errold Borges  named the dog "Tie" after all the railroad ties she crossed.

Animal Care & Control of NYC said it received more than 100 queries about Tie and approximately three dozen applications for the dog.
