Dispute Between 2 Homeless Men Ends With Stabbing In North Bergen
NORTH BERGEN, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- An argument between two homeless men in North Bergen, New Jersey ended in a stabbing early Sunday morning.
The fight broke out around 3:30 a.m. under a bridge that carries John F. Kennedy Boulevard East over a break in the Palisades cliffs, police told NJ.com.
Police said a 42-year-old man stabbed the 39-year-old victim in the leg and hit him in the head with a bottle before hiding at the bottom of a nearby cliff. Authorities eventually had to use ropes and a gurney to lift him to safety.
Both men were taken to hospitals after the attack, but further details on their conditions were not disclosed.
The men live under the bridge, and it's not known what they were arguing about.
The investigation into the attack is ongoing.
