Dislike: Some Users Experience Facebook Outage

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Now we know why Facebook doesn't have a "dislike" button.

The hugely popular social network went down for users Friday, including CBS New York.

Users hoping to post status updates were instead greeted with a "Sorry, something went wrong" message.

There's no official word from Facebook as yet as to the cause of the outage, which apparently started slightly before noon and lasted about a half an hour.

In May, Facebook said in its earnings report that it had more than 1.1 billion monthly users on average worldwide, including 685 million average daily users.
