Devils Winger Jordin Tootoo Fined For Tripping Seth Jones

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) — Jordin Tootoo of the New Jersey Devils has been fined more than $2,200 for a dangerous trip in a game against the Nashville Predators.

Tootoo tripped defenseman Seth Jones in the third period and was assessed a minor penalty in Tuesday night's game in New Jersey.

The fine was announced Thursday by the NHL and was the maximum allowed under the collective bargaining agreement. The money goes to the players' emergency assistance fund.

The Devils are 0-3-0 to begin the season.
