Brooklyn Mother Missing For A Week Found Safe

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - A Brooklyn mother who had been missing for a week has been found safe, police said.

Destiny Dawson, 21, had been missing for seven days after leaving her Bedford-Stuyvesant home for dinner.

Dawson lives with her two daughters and boyfriend Lasheem Harris.

Harris reported her missing the following day.

Her disappearance caused tension between her mother and boyfriend.

"I'm torn up. I want my child because it's a week and he is sitting there calm, calm like everything's all right," Chantee Dawson, Destiny's mother, told CBS2's ALi Bauman Wednesday.

Harris told Bauman he believed she was spending time with friends.

"I think she's out doing her," Harris said. "She's out having fun, spending time with whoever she knows because this isn't the first time, second time, third time."

When Destiny returned Thursday police said she was never in danger and is safe.
