Taking a look at who's hot and who's not on the local sports landscape:

THREE UP:


1. Mets' All-Stars

Jacob deGrom struck out the side and needed just 10 pitches (nine strikes, five swings and misses) to do it. That's what you call a dominating performance.

2. Knicks' Rookies

It might've been in Summer League play, but Kristaps Porzingis and Jerian Grant both looked very good compared to their fellow draftees.

3. Derek Stepan, Brock Nelson

Neither restricted free agent has signed yet, but both Stepan and Nelson are due solid raises from the Rangers and Islanders, respectively.

THREE DOWN:


1. Yankees' All-Stars

Mark Teixeira and Brett Gardner went a combined 0-for-4, with Teixeira striking out at the hands of Aroldis Chapman. Dellin Betances did, however, record a strikeout in one scoreless inning of work.

2. Nets' Veterans

Deron Williams was bought out, then signed with Dallas. Then, Thomas Robinson went down with an injury. It's been a fun past few days in Brooklyn.

3. Islanders Off the Ice

As if the political nonsense that drove them out of Nassau County wasn't enough, the Isles' deal with the county to renovate and practice at a facility in Cantiague Park may now face complications.
