De Blasio To Throw Out First Pitch At Citi Field On Opening Day

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Mayor Bill de Blasio will throw out the first pitch at Citi Field on Opening Day.

De Blasio will take the mound when the Mets start their 2014 season on Monday.

He will be joined by six children from the East Harlem Tutorial Program who were affected by the recent explosion and building collapse in East Harlem, officials said.

The program runs charter schools and after-school programs.

The Mets season opener against the Nationals is scheduled to start at 1:10 p.m. Monday.
