Dairy Queen's Miracle Treat Day Raises Funds For Local Children's Hospitals

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Dairy Queen is dishing out frozen treats for a cause.

The eatery says they will donate at least $1 to the Children's Miracle Network for every Blizzard sold in participating stores on July 28.

The Children's Miracle Network is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing funds for children's hospitals and research programs across the United States, including the Cohen Children's Medical Center of New York, located in New Hyde Park.

According to the company's website, Dairy Queen has been in partnership with Children's Miracle Network since 1984. The company donated $5 million in 2015, with a total of $115 million donated over the last 20 years.

Dairy Queen has several locations through the Tri-State area. They opened their first two-story Manhattan location on 14th Street in 2014.
