Daily News Readers: Mike Francesa Is 2nd-Most Powerful Person In NY Sports
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The New York Daily News has spoken.
So have its readers, who say there's just one person more powerful in New York sports than WFAN host Mike Francesa: retiring Yankees captain Derek Jeter.
The paper said Francesa was No. 8 in a list published Thursday. But that wasn't high enough for fans, who voted him up to the second spot in a follow-up poll.

Giants quarterback Eli Manning and Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist tied for third in the Daily News' fan polling. Ex-Yankee Jason Giambi -- really?! -- and Jay Z followed.
"The fans" received some votes, but not enough to make the list, the paper said.
Francesa beat out the likes of Jets owner Woody Johnson and everyone's favorite villain, Alex Rodriguez, in both lists. (See the original top 50 here.)
