Cute Alert! Snow Leopard Cubs Make Public Debut At Bronx Zoo

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Two rare snow leopard cubs have made their public debut at the Bronx Zoo.

The male cubs were born on May 6 and are now on exhibit with their mother in the Himalayan Highlands, the Wildlife Conservation Society said.

Snow leopards are among the world's most endangered big cats. It is estimated that only about 7,500 remain in the wild — mostly in the remote mountains of Central Asia and parts of China, Mongolia, Russia, India and Bhutan.

The Bronx Zoo was the first zoo in the United States to exhibit snow leopards, in 1903. It has bred more than 70 since then.
