Cullen Jenkins, Jon Beason Injured In Loss To Cowboys

ARLINGTON, Texas (CBSNewYork/AP) — The New York Giants could be without two defensive starters after Sunday's loss in Dallas.

Cullen Jenkins and Jon Beason were both hurt in the first half against the Cowboys and didn't return.

Jenkins, the left defensive tackle, sustained a calf strain.

"Felt like somebody hit me with a hammer," Jenkins said, adding that he hopes it's not a long-term injury. "Go in (Monday) and get it looked at, see what we're dealing with."

Middle linebacker Beason left the game because of a toe injury. X-rays were negative.

"I really wanted to put that while thing behind him, but it cropped up again," coach Tom Coughlin said of Beason, who missed the previous three games.

The Giants (3-4), already dealing with a hobbled Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, will have extra time to heal heading into their bye week. New York's next game is Nov. 3 against the Indianapolis Colts.
