4 Homes Damaged In 2 Separate Fires In Paterson

PATERSON, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Officials are trying to determine what caused two separate fires that damaged four homes in Paterson.

The first fire broke out on 4th Avenue early Thursday. Firefighters then had to respond to two more homes in flames on 5th Avenue.

Flames could be seen shooting from the homes before firefighters were able to bring the blazes under control hours later.

One neighbor said she's upset that the fires happened during the holiday season.

"It's sad, especially Christmas," she told 1010 WINS' Rebecca Granet. "Very sad."

There are no reports of any injuries. The exact cause of the fires is under investigation.
